Jan 30- Learn to Ski & Ride @ Mad River Mtn VOLUNTEERS
Description
Ski season will likely look a little different this year, but we believe that with the following safety procedures we will be able to keep our volunteers and participants safe and healthy, while still providing our high standard of programming. Our sport leaders and staff will continue to closely monitor the public health situation and will continue to make changes to our protocols as is necessary.
This year, we will be staggering our start times for lessons and limiting the number of volunteers per lesson. Registration will close the Monday prior to the event on Saturday and all lesson assignments and details will be emailed to all volunteers on Friday. This means that you will be assigned a start time, participant, and volunteer team ahead of time and are asked to only arrive for your scheduled session. We may be able to accommodate volunteers for 2 sessions (1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon) still. Because of these restrictions, we are requiring that all on snow volunteers be returning volunteers or already know how to ski. New volunteers and non-ski volunteers will be able to volunteer for dry land positions such as registration and equipment maintenance/prep. All volunteers are welcome to join us for our virtual dry land trainings. Please review our full list of COVID precautions and our detailed Winter Operating Procedures below.
COVID-19 How to Stay Safe and Enjoy skiing and boarding
We will be taking a number of precautions to protect the safety of our volunteers and participants in this program including:
-
All participants and volunteers will be required to register and pay online and will be encouraged to print and bring their signed waiver with them.
-
Registration for participants and volunteers will open only 2 weeks at a time and will close the Tuesday prior to the event. A waiting list will be maintained for anyone who was not able to register due to lower capacity. The waiting list will be used to fill any vacancies that arise and will receive the first opportunity to register for the next 2 weeks of lessons.
-
All registered participants must take a screening phone call (no more than 10 minutes) from ASC staff on Wednesday or Thursday prior to their Saturday lesson. Failure to complete this call will result in cancellation of your registration.
-
All registered volunteers must complete an online COVID questionnaire Wednesday or Thursday prior to their Saturday lesson. Failure to complete this questionnaire will result in the cancellation of your registration.
-
Everyone will be asked to perform a daily health screening and get their temperature taken during registration at the ski hill.
-
Everyone will be required to wear masks or face coverings at all times on ski resort property (in lift lines, on the lift, in the lodge, during equipment fitting, etc) except for when actively skiing.
-
Increased gear cleaning protocols. All gear and equipment will be sanitized and/or disinfected after each use.
-
Lesson start times will be staggered and no more than 4 lessons will run at one time.
-
Participants may only register for 1 lesson per day. No full day lessons will be offered.
-
As few volunteers as is safe, and no more than 3, will be assigned to each lesson.
-
If the county the ski hill is in iss purple on the Thursday prior to the event, based on the State of Ohio guidelines, the program will be cancelled for that event. Anyone who lives in a county that is purple on the Thursday prior to the event day will also be barred from participating or volunteering for that event. A full refund will be issued.
-
Anyone who feels sick is asked to stay home and will be provided a full refund. Lessons can be cancelled by emailing info@adaptivesportsconnetion.org or leaving a message at 614.389.3921. No show/no call lessons will not be refunded and may be barred from future participation.
-
Everyone will be asked to sanitize their hands frequently. Hand sanitizer will be available.
-
Participants and volunteers are asked to arrive “ski ready”. Everyone should fully dress and boot up in their cars to minimize time indoors. Access to indoor areas will be severely restricted, with maximum occupancy numbers posted. No one should enter an ASC indoor space unless absolutely necessary.
-
No personal belongings will be left in the building
-
ASC will continue to evaluate the operations plan and adjust as necessary
